8311 Community supporters who purchase a compatible SFP+ module for use on UK Virgin Media can claim a free fibre adapter kit to complete their installation.
These modules use an SC/APC optical connector.
Virgin Media typically presents the fibre handoff via LC/APC, so in most UK installations a short SC/APC to LC/APC patch lead and LC/APC coupler are required to adapt between the two.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the free adapter kit:
- You must have purchased an eligible SFP+ module within the previous 14 days.
- You must have made a minimum £5 donation to the 8311 Community within the previous 14 days.
- Both the module purchase date and the donation date must fall within 14 days prior to submission of the claim form.
- The donation must:
- Be unique to you
- Not have been used previously to claim this promotion
- Be verifiable
- The SFP+ module must be compatible with 8311 and capable of bypassing the Virgin Media 5x platform (including, but not limited to, X-ONU-SFPP and WAS-110).
Claim Process
- Claims must be submitted using the official claim form.
- Claims are manually reviewed.
- Validation is typically completed within 48 hours.
- Order details and donation details must reasonably match the claimant’s identity (email consistency expected).
- We reserve the right to request additional information to verify eligibility.
If eligibility cannot be verified, the claim will be declined.
Data Retention & Abuse Prevention
To prevent duplicate claims and promotion abuse:
- Claim and verification data is retained for 15 days only.
- Data is stored solely for the purpose of validating eligibility and preventing duplicate use of donations.
- After 15 days, claim validation data is deleted.
We do not retain promotion claim data beyond what is reasonably necessary to administer this offer.
